US Open

Graeme Mcdowell wins the US Open shooting par through the 72 holes.  Im not sure if the conditions at Pebble Beach were bad or if the players just played bad, but I didn’t see too many great shots today.  The 54 hole leader, Dustin Johnson, played horrific and shot an 82.  That’s the 2nd worst round since 1911 (83) by the leader through 54 holes.  Honestly, it was hard to watch.  I felt really bad for the guy because he went from flawless to amateur.  Well not amateur because if he would have shot what the 2 amateurs shot (Langley 71, Henley 73) he would have won comfortably.  Only 2 out of the top 15 players shot under par today, so there really wasn’t anything spectacular to watch.  It was nice to see that Gregory Havret stayed calm throughout his round and finished second.  It was just his first US Open and he composed himself with class.  I’m very happy for Mcdowell for being the first person from Northern Ireland to win the US Open, but I wish it would have been because he made great shots, not average ones.
